This Lovejoy SLD 350 Series internal shaft locking device is a locking element for connecting a hub to a shaft in power transmission applications. It has an internal and external tapered ring, and when axial force is exerted, pressure is generated on the shaft and hub bore for a frictional connection. It is a split ring for applications requiring larger tolerances and/or higher torques. There are no moving parts, so there is no wear, and the device can be reused. No stops are needed, so a boss or hub can be locked at any point along a shaft. This locking element is suitable for the connection of gear wheels, chain sprockets, levers, cams, belt pulleys, brake drums, flywheels, couplings, and clutches, among others.Shaft collars are ring-shaped devices primarily used to secure components onto shafts.
